The Roccia dell 'Orso is a granite hill 122 meters high, shaped over time from the weathering into a bear
that looks towards the sea . This rock dates back to the late Paleozoic between 340 and 250 million years
ago.
Tavolara is an island of 6 km ² in the north-east of Sardinia. The island is a majestic massif overlooking the
sea, with a rectangular shape, approximately 6 km long and 1 km wide.
In the Upper Palaeolithic Tavolara was connected to the mainland but later the sea level of the sea
increased and the erosion exerted by the movement of the waves and strong winds broke up from the
mainland and only ten thousand years ago from the nearby island.
